First post in 2011
2011!!! The year that I am anticipating for. This year is the year I ORD for my national service and the start of my university life!
Less than 6 months more to go and I am really in high spirit to get to school life again. I understand that university life would be extremely hard compared to polytechnic. But I am ready for it, seriously.
I am going to start revising all my stuff that I learned in polytechnic and new stuff that had been out on the IT world ever since I was serving my NS. I know that these 2 years, many things changes, even programming language. If I didn't keep myself up-to-date for technology stuff, I will ended up losing to those fresh grads from polytechnics or students with strong IT background.
Let's hope that I can survive my remaining NS life and meanwhile using the time to revise for my work :)
Recently, I was hooked onto watching the amazing race! This reality show is one of the best together with the apprentice and survivor. I was amazing how the teams in the race can turned ugly to their own partners. It was really a WOW thing to me because mostly, but not all the couple teams all screwed up with each other by yelling and cursing at each other.
I think amazing race is a place where couple can really know each other well because both of them are under tough situation and stress out on the task given, thus they can truly show their real face to one another.
Well I am still watching the amazing race, and I hope the race will get better and better.
The teams that I really like are, BJ & Tyler from season 9 and the cowboy from season 16

It's ending soon!
Yeah it's ending soon, for 2010 and my like as an NSPI. In less than a month, we are going to step into 2011 and say goodbye to 2010. Personally, I felt that 2010 is been a fantastic year for me because I have seriously learn a lot. In the beginning of the year, I have attended a course called Outward Bound Singapore (OBS), which is held at Pulau Ubin. This course is to strengthen our leaderships skills through tough times we were being given.
A few months after the trip to OBS, we finally pass out as a NSPI (National Service Probationary Inspector), well still in probation until we have cleared our Operation Ready Date (ORD) Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) and shooting during December. Well I have cleared IPPT and now I have left with shooting, which is a good start for me.
I was posted to Ministry of Home Affairs, and start working as an NSPI and no longer a trainee in Home Team. Well time flies, 6 months have passed and 2010 is ending soon, which means I left 6 more months to ORD! But before that, I have a lot of things to get ready because I am going to National University of Singapore (NUS) after I ORD, thus I need to prepare myself especially my English Language, because that's my worse subject in my entire school life.
Lately, I was interested in taking SAT,because I felt that SAT is a way to brush up my English and also to give me a rough idea on how my standards were comparing with people in US or maybe all around the world. That's the first thing that I am going to do next year and also I will be redesigning my website to a better layout because I felt that this current design is not cool enough, I guess LOL.
Next thing I would do is to start my revision on programming, computer and such. That's because I can clearly say that I almost forgot every single thing that I have learned in the past. I hope the revision can really make me recall everything that I have learned, if not I would have a hard time in university.
Next thing to do is to create my first Facebook application or other application which draws my interest. I want to test my skills in programming, so making an application can really measure where I stand.
Last but not least, which is an option to complete it but I hope I have time for that, which is to get my driving license. Hope I can pass my Final Theory Test.... God Bless :)
Well that's quite a number of things to do for the next 6 months but hope I can clear all of them before I ORD!
Wish me Luck!

Trip to Jakarta
2 days after my POP, 8 of us, Steven, John, Tyler, Sam, man, khai, Farhan and me when for a 4 days 3 night trip to Jakarta. It was a exciting trip for me because it's my first time being to Jakarta and I do not know what to expect over there, except that I am a Millionaire LOL. (Since the exchange rate for Singapore to Rupiah is 1:6579 and I change a total of SGD$350 which makes me a millionaire overnight :)).
Over there the culture is different, especially food/fast food. Heard from Steven, he says that people in Indonesia like to eat rice so every meal bound to have rice on the table. Same goes for fast food, unlike menu in Singapore, they serve rice meal in KFC, A&W and so on. Also the thing there are quite cheap, especially their local meals, it like 2 to 3 SGD to settle a normal meal.
Other than food, the clothes there are also quite cheap, we can even find shirt which cost less than 5 dollars in a shopping mall, and the shopping mall is much much bigger than suntec city and vivo city! Now you can imagine how big is the shopping mall and the structure is also very grand but who knows, they sell cheap stuff too! (For certain shops only LOL, the rest are about the same as Singapore)
On the second night I went for clubbing, it's my first time that I went to clubbing, and I did not know what to expect. First before we went in, we have to pay entrance fees of 100K rupiah which is round SGD$15. The music is very loud until I can feel my heartbeat bouncing. At first I did not use to it but as times goes by, I started moving along and dance with the beat. Then we order alcohol which cost around 200K per person. Well Also this is my first time drinking alcohol, and it doesn't taste good I can still remember how it taste like.
After drinking, we went up to the dance floor at second floor. Off course we start to dance. It was definitely fun dancing with your friends. But we often drift apart because people might go through between us and dance so naturally I dance together with some strangers. Well we dance for like 3 hours LOL first time I have dance for so long.
Overall the trip to Jakarta was definitely FUN!!!! I have experience a lot of things and also thanks to Steven sister and her boyfriend/husband I don't know cause did not ask, for bringing us around Jakarta as our tour guide!
Hope OCT can organize more of this overseas event again!

WOOT Best in academic
WOHOOOO I got best in academic aka professional studies in my squad. I was happy when my course manager told me this news although I did not attain the sword of merit/honor due to my performance in OPs training was well enough, but this award of best in academics truly make my day and make it worthwhile in my OCT life. Also each of us were given a sword, except that out sword did not engrave with our names compared to those sword winner which are the sword of merit/honor.
I received a certificate and a plague during our farewell party which organize by our junior. It was quite fun as our spirit were high due to the fact that we are going to pass out soon. I also receive a letter from my junior buddy, Samuel. Thanks for the letter and as a event IC, you have done well for your very first event, good job. Also good job to the other juniors who had put up a interesting performance for us. Thanks!
Well look forward to monday and I hope that it will be a great weather for my passing out parade :)
